The next step is the realization and understanding of the shame after the incident. You need to comprehend that the abuser had complete control and that you did not let go by choice. You need to face the shame and know that none of it is your fault and that you are simply a victim.
Write a letter to the person who abused you and tell them how you feel about them and what you wish could happen to them. You do not have to necessarily send the letter and you can burn it later. The importance of doing this is to release all your anger.
Enroll in support groups either within your area or online. These groups will have people who were in the same situation as yours. Ask them how they dealt with the occurrence of the incident and this way, you will be motivated that if they could get over it, so can you.
