Understanding the Teachings of the Bible

By Lykez Michelle

Bible teachings have enriched the lives of many individuals. Believers who have joined colleges where Bible lessons are conducted these days; have realized that it's mandatory they undertake a unit in the art and the science of delivering Bible sermons.

This kind of study instills special knowledge to the learners of the Bible on the best way to deliver the message that is written in Bible. Most commonly, the learners are taught on how after reading a given verse or chapter of the Bible they can interpret it using the simplest words. They are also taught on how to relate the scriptures with the occurrences of the world.

Also the learners are taught on how after delivering the sermon to the followers of Christ, they can uplift and help grow them to better heights. They give people hope and also teach them to love their neighbors just like Jesus taught people and his disciples. Christianity is not only spread thru churches, many Christians are utilising the Internet. There are Christianity internet sites and forums that are spreading the word of God. Christians have joined for membership on various Christian forums and web sites to talk about and evangelize the gospel to different parts of the world.

The Bible students are also taught on common doctrines of the Bible which have been there for thousands of years-more especially the ones that are generally known and not disputed by people. They are also taught aspects of evangelizing in order to convert the non believers into believers.

Worth noting is the fact that most of the teachings used are referenced from the Bible chapters and verses. But almost all of the sermons are universally accepted through the word of mouth. This is seen more especially when a Christian is trying to explain to other believers a given section of the Bible. The believers usually accept such principles without any reference to the Holy Book of our lord.

Sermons from the Bible are not something new in this world. They were taught even in the Old Testament by prophets and the high priests of Israel who used to inspire their followers to give to the lord and show respect and honour Him for his guidance, protection and for their continued well being. Refutation evangelizing or teaching is by no means a modern phenomenon.

Some of the prophets more particularly from the Old Testament seemed not to align themselves so much to popular teachings of the Bible since they only emphasized on followers repenting and admitting their sins. Such issues made the prophets somehow unpopular to the people and were in most situations not seriously taken by the people. Their teaching ways were often taken as being untrue and weird particularly when foretelling what was to happen in future times.

When Jesus used to teach the large magnitudes, he used parables that attracted the attention of the people. They were eager to hear these parables. Nowadays, preachers are also trying to use the same concept as Jesus by using real life experiences.

Checking how you fully understand the Bible and its teachings may be a bit challenging. You could be inclined to see every chapter and verse of the Bible as contradicting, but maybe this will be a strengthening point to you toward how you understand God's word.
